Busy mathematicians in Year 4 today! 🔢 We investigated repeating patterns using multilink cubes, building shapes and spotting sequences. Fantastic teamwork and problem solving 4MH.

We’ve been excitedly following the osprey nest together, and today we spotted the third chick has hatched! 🐣 Only one egg left now — we can’t wait to see what happens next. Such a lovely real-life learning experience for the children!

Spring Term 25-26

4AP had a fantastic morning at Forest School, fully embracing the outdoors! The children searched for signs of spring, hunted for bugs, and even managed pond dipping and bird watching. Between planting beans and building dens, there was also time for quiet reflection through nature drawing.

4MH enjoyed using musical instruments during our science lesson this morning to investigate how sound is made. We discussed whether an object needs to move in order for sound to be made and children wrote their ideas on sticky notes.

4AP have been learning about finance, focusing on the difference between needs and wants. We explored which items are essential, like food and clothing, and which are enjoyable extras, such as toys or sweets. This helped them to understand how to make sensible spending choices & think about saving 💰

Year 4 had a fantastic time learning all about Safer Internet Day. They discussed how to stay safe online and explored ways to use AI tools responsibly, creatively, and with confidence 💻 #saferinternetday

4AP had a fantastic time creating their own podcasts as part of our computing unit. The children researched fascinating facts about the Great Barrier Reef and used their digital skills to script, record and edit their very own episodes 🗣️🔈

4MH had a lovely afternoon working together as a team to design and make a ‘Funny Potato Person’ for our competition in PSHE. They demonstrated teamwork skills such as communication, respect, patience, resilience and creativity.

Our final designs for the ‘Funniest Potato Person’ competition in PSHE. We spoke about what each person did well in the challenge and what they would do differently if they were to do this task again. Well done to all children for working so hard and well as a team!

Year 4 had a great time this morning in Forest School. We looked at the different birds around us using binoculars and had the opportunity to leave some food out for the birds to eat!

4CK had a great time this morning. In Forest School, we looked for birds using binoculars and tried to identify them, we left some food out for the birds to eat, we listened to some birds near the pond and we jumped on leaves to help make compost for the garden! We love Forest School!
