Welcome to Mellor Community Primary School!

Dear parents, carers and visitors,

Our website is intended to be a practical guide and point of reference. I hope you find it useful.  On behalf of the children, staff and Governors, I welcome you to Mellor Community Primary School.  We are a large, vibrant, inclusive school who are proud of our close community links and extended school provision.  We manage the Cross Corners Arts Centre and maintain strong links with a range of external arts organisations to ensure high quality, cultural and arts enrichment opportunities for our pupils.  We also include Forest Schools provision as part of our regular curriculum offer.  
We believe in an active community, enriched by a diversity of cultures. The school is committed to offering a welcoming and well-resourced environment and a curriculum, which offers both challenge and support to enable children to reach their full potential and be the best they can be.  This is reflected in the many accreditations our school has received for its participation and high standards in a variety of areas, including the Bronze School Mental Health Award, Eco School Green Flag Award, Gold Sports Mark, and Platinum Arts Mark.  All of these are fantastic achievements and are the result of the continued efforts of both staff and children.  
Through our teaching, we hope to enable children to become confident, resourceful and independent learners who show respect for a diverse range of cultures and are able to build positive relationships with others. We value pupil voice and Oracy has a high profile throughout our school.  Our most recent Ofsted 2018 report says Mellor is a GOOD school and 95% of our parents would recommend our school to another parent (parent survey 2022/23).
I am proud to be the Head of Mellor Community Primary School, with a fantastic staff team, dedicated governors, supportive parents and happy, engaged children.
