Subject Information: Computing
Our Computing curriculum equips our pupils with computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world. The curriculum allows pupils to recognise the significance of digital technology in their everyday lives. Our curriculum is led by the key concepts of programming, creating media, computer skills and understanding computer networks, providing opportunities to build a shared and consistent understanding. As the curriculum is a spiral, this ensures themes are revisited regularly as pupils move through the school.
There is an emphasis on promoting curiosity about digital technology and encouraging our pupils to ask questions about the digital systems around them. Technology used in the real world is explored including how to use it in a safe and responsible way. All children are exposed to high quality computing teaching and a range of learning experiences. We aspire for our children to leave our school being digitally literate and able to function in the wider world of education and careers, with future success giving them opportunities in life.
